Continuing Education Requirements

♠  All acupuncturists renewing their license are required to complete and list 50 hours of California Acupuncture Board-approved continuing education courses on their renewal application and sign under penalty of perjury.
         In order to renew an active license, licensees must complete 50 continuing education units (CEUs). You can obtain these 50 CEUs in acu4ceu.com. The CEUs must be submitted with the renewal fee before the expiration date.

1. You must obtain more than twenty-five (25) hours of continuing education in Live Webinar course or Seminar course. You can also obtain 50 CEUs in Live Webinar course or Seminar course.

2. No more than twenty-five (25) hours of continuing education in Distance (Recorded Video) education course for each renewal period.

3. No more than five (5) hours of continuing education may be earned from courses in Category 2 for each renewal period.

Each acupuncturist is required to retain records of all continuing education courses attended for a minimum of four (4) years.
When renewing an initial license that has been issued for less than two (2) years, below is the number of California Acupuncture Board approved continuing education hours that must be completed based on the number of months the license was issued:

1. Period of initial licensure is fall between 13 to 16 months, require thirty-five (35) CE hours.

2. Period of initial licensure is fall between 17 to 20 months, require forty (40) CE hours.

3. Period of initial licensure is fall between 21 to 23 months, require forty-five (45) CE hours.
